I live in a Flyover State
Flyover State
I live in a flyover state. My city is the murder capital of the US. I see the violence first hand as a nurse.
But, there is so much more to the great state of Missouri than the news shows us. This state has beautiful mountain ranges, forests, rolling hills, trails, state parks, and some of the kindest citizens you will ever meet. People who live a simple life. People who die satisfied.
Last summer, Matt and began to explore the little towns of Missouri. We have found hidden gems, we have talked to some of the most amazing people. We have discovered a love of land and the simple life that we never knew existed within us.
If you have never explored the small towns of Missouri, I recommend that you do. It has changed my perspective of life in general, and has given me a new love for this beautiful state.
Here are a few pictures of our last adventure. We went motorcycle camping, just the two of us. We were out in the middle of nowhere when we came across three other motorcycle riders on the side of the road. Matt is not one to pass up an opportunity to pull out his hand tooled leather tool kit, so we stopped to help. These three were motorcycle campers as well! The first we have met on the road! And of course, wouldn’t you know it, we had a loose connection to them through a friend of ours in St. Louis. There bikes were not broken down, they were just trying to decide where to camp. We invited them along with us. We camped together that night, and we made three new friends. It was a good weekend.
Beautiful pics!!!!!!
